VIRGINIA ZOO
Ages 15 & up
Animal Services
What do zookeepers do? Find out, be a keeper aide! Keeper aide volunteers
assist Zookeepers in their day-to-day care of animals by helping to prepare diets, feed animals and clean exhibits. Since
most of the Zoo’s animals are wild, there is limited "hands-on" touching. The keeper aide gains valuable educational experience
through observing animals and hard work.
Our volunteers are instrumental to the success of the Virginia Zoo
and we invite you to join our team. For more information, call our Volunteer Service Coordinator Pat Clark at (757) 441-2374, ext. 225 or
patricia.clark@norfolk.gov.
